Basic To Depth Of Field.

IRIS ( Aperture or F-Stop.) Iris- Amount of light coming into your lens.
The larger the opening = More light coming in. The smaller the opening = Less light coming in. The larger the opening = Less depth of field. The smaller the opening = More depth of field.
IRIS- Smaller the number the larger the hole. The iris number is a fraction. F/2= 1/2 Meaning half the amount of light is coming into the lens. F/4 = 1/4 Meaning one fourth the amount of light is coming into the lens.
BASIC IRIS CHART
Focal Distance - Focal distance is the distance from your focal plane to subject. - It is where you set your focus Changing The Depth Of Field - Format change = larger format, less depth of field. - Iris change = larger setting, more depth of field. - Focal length change = wider lens, more depth of field. - Focal distance change = closer to the camera, less depth of field.
